GS1 Digital Link builder
Build the web address that a GS1 Digital Link QR code carries, from a GTIN and an optional batch and serial number. It runs in your browser, and nothing you enter is sent to us.
How the link is built
A GS1 Digital Link is a web address with your identifiers in a fixed order: the domain, then 01 and the GTIN as 14 digits, then 10 and the batch or lot, then 21 and the serial number. For example:
https://id.yourbrand.com/01/09506000134352/10/LOT42
This tool follows the GS1 Digital Link URI Syntax 1.7.0 for these three identifiers. Batch and serial numbers can have up to 20 letters, digits and certain symbols.
Which identifiers to include
- A passport for a product model: the GTIN only.
- A passport for a production batch: the GTIN and the batch or lot.
- A passport for an individual item: the GTIN and the serial number, with the batch if you like.
The identifiers in the link are public, as anyone who scans the code can read them. Read more in our guide to GS1 Digital Link QR codes.
The QR code comes free with your first passport
You do not need your own domain to use a GS1 Digital Link. In Polarpass, the QR code uses Polarpass’s web address with your GTIN, and it opens your passport. It is included with your first published passport, which is free. Polarpass does not issue GTINs or verify that you own them, and it is not a GS1-certified resolver.

Your first published passport is free, including its QR code in PNG, SVG or PDF. Use a plain passport link or a GS1 Digital Link with your GTIN.
